Short Biography |
| |
Currently I am a third year M.Sc. candidate in Department of Computer Science and Technology at Nanjing University. I am a research assistant in the Institute of Computer Software, TC Group, supervised by Prof. Jian Lv, Prof. Feng Xu, Prof. Xianping Tao, Dr. Xiaoxing Ma, and Dr. Yu Huang. I am really enjoying the work involving my research interests(see details in Research Interests).
I received my B. Sc. degree of Computer Science in 2007 from Nanjing University, and continued to study for a M. Sc. degree of Computer Science at Nanjing University with an excellent entrance examination score in the same year.
I have been interested in algorithmic programming contests since 2007, and participated in many contests like TopCoder, Google Code Jam, etc. Welcome to Algorithm Board at lilybbs, where we can discuss algorithms together.
I will attend the Univeristy of California, Santa Barbara for a PhD degree in the Fall of 2010.
More information about me in my Curriculum Vitae (CV). |

Research Interests |
| |
- Machine Learning: Topic Models, Ranking for classification, Hierarchical Dirichlet Process
These are the most recent topics I am interested in. Though I am still novice for them, I am becoming familiar with these topics.
- Natural Language Processing: Sentiment Analysis based on Text
Recently, I am doing some researching on NLP. Specifically, I am trying to analyze and understand the sentiments of entities in open environments based on existing public texts like comments.
- Software Engineering: Trust Systems for Internet Software in Open environments
We propose a novel trust system to decrease the risks led by uncertainty in open environments and improve the accuracy in prediction with machine learning approaches, e.g. multilayer neural networks or other new learning frameworks to increase the size of hypothesis space, better use history records (training data) and resist the influence of noise data.

Topic: Trust and Reputation Systems in Open Environments
Detail: In past two years, I mainly do research work on trust and reputation systems. First, I designed a formal model to describe the existing information collection strategies, compare the strength and weakness among different strategies and assist us in designing a personalized strategy; then, I focused on improving the performance of trust and reputation systems with machine learning approaches. In my recent work, I combined neural networks into trust and reputation systems, and this makes trust computation model more flexible for open environments.
Date: March 2007 - June 2007
Topic: A Trust-Based and User-Requirements Driven EJB Services Selection Platform
Detail: This is the topic of my Undergraduate Graduation Thesis. In this work, I used XML to describe the requirements of users and employed the methods in Workflow area to organize the business logic. Besides, I designed a trust computation model to quantify the trust values of software components; with the assistance of trust values, the platform is able to provide more robust application software.
Date: July 2006 - Dec 2006
Topic: A Context-aware System based on Wireless Sensor Networks
Detail: This is a research project that used data collected by sensors to help camera capture the latest events in a classroom. In this project, I was mainly responsible for designing the communication protocols for sensors, programming on sensors, and designing events classification algorithm.. |
